Petcare
It is a responsibility of a pet owner to take good care of his pets. Like humans, pets also expect love and affection from their owners. And you should care well for them. Pet care starts from one’s own home. You should ensure that your home is pet safe.
A pet safe home is the one that does not support potential dangers inside the home like any poisonous substance or any electrical appliance that is in reach of your pet. Just ensure all such things that can harm your pet are kept away from their reach.
When you have to leave your pet alone at home, always prefer pet sitters. They will take care of your pet when you cannot be with them. A pet sitter ensures a proper care that includes keeping your pet happy and healthy. You should also take your pets for a regular checkup with a vet to ensure that they are healthy
Living with and caring for pets
It takes a special person to want a dog as a pet. When it’s a puppy, all the cuteness quickly goes out the window when you find your favourite pair of shoes missing; only to find them in a random location outside, with no heel, no sole and slightly resembling a piece of chewed jerky. Or when they are somewhat older and you thought you could trust them; you come home from work and find bits and pieces of the couch floating around the entire length of the house. Or what about when you take them down the beach, let them off the leash and the first thing they do is run for the hills. So much for all that money spent on training. But despite the destruction, despite the many occasions spent chasing, despite the long hours at night and despite cleaning up pee for the fifteenth time; puppies and dogs alike offer something no human can… unconditional love. When you have had the worst day of your life, when you feel it just can’t get any worse, when everyone else turns against you or gives up; guess who walks over to where you are sitting and crying, and puts their head on your lap, and looks at you with such empathy and such love? It makes it all worth your while.
Fussy Eaters
We all like to give our pets the best. But when it comes to diet, it can be very tricky, especially if your pet is a fussy eater. But there are some simple rules that can ensure happy dinner times for pets and owners
Pets Don’t Do Drive Thru
While people might like to grab a quick bite to eat on the run, dinner amid lot of traffic can make pets avoid mealtimes.
Ensure your pet’s food or water is in a quiet, low traffic area away from any distractions. Stale Food Large bags of dry pet food can represent good value, but dry food open to the air will absorb moisture and become stale.
Dry food should be kept in an air-tight container away from direct sunlight and can even be frozen then thawed as need.
Nothing Like Home Cooking
Commercially prepared pet foods contain many ingredients that are good for your pet, but can also contain unnecessary food colourings and additives. Fresh meat, vegetables and grains can be used to create your own pet food.
Consult your vet on what to include or to avoid - chocolate, onions and raisins are all toxic to dogs.
